Manage Systems Not People

If you have to manage people, you have the wrong folks working for you. Conversely, if you have the right people, but not the right systems, it makes it increasingly difficult to build a successful entity. Therefore, it is important to focus on managing the systems people work within, rather than managing the people themselves. Create structures, checks, balances and feedback loops to ensure you are building an entity that is built to last with inspired people working for you who are willing to provide the feedback necessary to improve.

Summary

In sum, focus on managing the structures within the organization. Once your structures are established, those who must constantly be managed will leave or be let go and those who invest in the refining and changing of  the existing systems will flourish along with your business.
